    The theme of the week

GREENING YOUR OFFICES: THE BEST WAY TO RECONNECT WITH NATURE AT WORK

Harvard biologist EO Wilson states in his book “Biophilia” (1984) that humans have an innate tendency to seek out connections with nature and with other forms of life. The term biophilia , used since then, describes our spontaneous need for nature, whether at home or in the office.

Greening involves adding plants to an existing environment, such as an office, building, park , or city, to make it greener.

It is an increasingly common practice in urban spaces to improve air quality, mitigate the effects of the urban heat island, reduce stormwater runoff and improve the quality of life for residents.

In an office context, greening involves adding plants to the work environment to improve the quality of life and well-being of employees.

    It inspires us

As you know, our mission at POUSSE is to reconnect all city dwellers to nature, in style, in all the places they live.

To accomplish this beautiful goal better and better, day after day, we are constantly learning about plants and their impact on humans.

We have scoured a number of scientific studies from around the world on our plant friends and their effects on our bodies and minds.

    Here's what to remember:

👍 The benefits of plants on employees:

    • +15% productivity
    • +15% creativity
    • Reduced stress (and pulse!)
    • Reconnection to immediate nature (this is a need that city dwellers should not neglect!)
    • Better overall immunity

🌱 The benefits of plants on the employer brand:

    • -10% absenteeism, reduction in turnover
    • A cleaner, healthier, greener working environment
    • More aesthetic, more inspiring spaces, in which we enjoy working
    • A strengthened corporate culture

    🤝 What we remember:

    • Green plants are not just green plants! Their benefits extend well beyond the aesthetics of a place.
    • Greening your offices is one of the simplest, most sustainable and economical ways to have a better impact on the lives of employees and the perception of the employer brand.

I want to green my offices

Questions to ask yourself before getting started

    • Which space to green (surface, number of rooms, brightness)?
    • What budget ?
    • What type of vegetation (potted plants, plant wall, plant logo, plant partition, terrace, etc.)?
    • Which plants (pay attention to the available light: your favorite landscapers can help you )?
    • What maintenance needs?

      The quote of the week

"People just don't like fluorescent lights in a building with no plants, no view, no natural light."
