Hôtel de l'Université: when 3D modeling gives life to a grandiose project

The Hôtel de l'Université , located in the heart of the city, is a historic building classified as a remarkable monument since 1988. The challenge for our POUSSE was therefore to respect the heritage requirements while adding a touch of greenery .

For this, we opted for 3D modeling with the Lumion software. This allowed us to visualize and test different configurations before embarking on the realization.

3D modeling: an essential tool

3D modeling is a technique for creating a three-dimensional representation of an object or space. As part of the greening of the Hôtel de l'Université, it was very useful to us for:

• Visualize the end result : By creating a digital model of the hotel, we were able to visualize different layouts and choose the one that best matched our vision.
• Anticipating technical constraints : the modeling allowed us to anticipate any technical problems related to the integration of vegetation in an old and listed building.
• Optimize costs : by testing different layouts, we were able to find the one that corresponded to both our vision and our budget .

Lumion: the software that changed everything

Lumion software is a 3D modeling tool that helps create realistic real-time visualizations. Thanks to this software, we were able to:

• Integrate different types of vegetation : trees, climbing plants, flowers, etc.
• Visualize the final result in real time : we were able to navigate the design as if we were there, to better understand it and make it evolve according to our desires and our constraints .
• Present our project to our customers : thanks to the images and videos made with Lumion, we were able to present our project in a more realistic and concrete way to our customers.

In a few words

3D modeling with Lumion was a real asset for the greening of the Hôtel de l'Université . It allowed us to visualize the final result , anticipate technical constraints and optimize costs . Thanks to this technique, we were able to carry out a grandiose project while respecting the heritage requirements of the building.
