    Euphorbia rescue operation
"Quick! It's urgent, my cactus is sick!!"
"Help! help me save my euphorbia!"
"Sudden death of my cactus! What should I do?"

It's usually this type of cry for help that we hear from the great Google Valley!
    bad spurge
You are not alone in going through this painful period...

The number 1 reason for the death of your euphorbia is linked to too frequent watering or too much watering in winter. Watering the cactiform spurge is a sensitive issue. Indeed, during the spring-summer period, the equivalent of a glass of water once a month is sufficient.
At the beginning of winter, between November and February, it is better to stop watering to avoid any risk of rot . Euphorbia is fragile during this period and does not tolerate excess water well, it is better that it lacks water rather than the opposite.

What happens if there is too much watering? He might die!

    Symptoms of a sinking spurge:
    • Change of colors, it becomes brown,
    • white spots,
    • Softening,
    • Trunk which is refined.

Often the rot appears at the level of the foot because that is where we water, so we will have to operate. And even amputate to prevent rot from continuing to evolve in the heart of your beloved plant!

You have 2 solutions to try to bring your euphorbia back to life (gloves required):
    • Option 1
Cut the cactus, being careful to cut it above the rotten part. Then wait for the cut to dry between 2 and 4 weeks (even until spring).
    • Option 2
As the trunk is not entirely rotten, it would be necessary to remove the moldy parts, to unpot it, to clean all the earth well, to cut off the rotten roots, to repot it in compost and to hope that the mold does not rise again. If it doesn't work and the rot continues to mount, then you will have to opt for solution 1 quickly.
